The Art in Hosting

How we started... 

In 2000, my wife Rose Wicki and I, Christoph Wicki, built a house about 300m from Jabaquara beach in Paraty. It was never our purpose to build an inn, but there we had a house that ended up getting too big for the family, combining the fact that we were always good hosts. Then, one day we received two people that wondered with our place hosted here. They were two visual artists, a chilean and the other from São Paulo and without knowing the reason, we accepted to host them and later on we discovered that actually they were painting a watercolor frame and our place worked as a source of inspiration. In their return to São Paulo, they pointed our place to other artists friends too and we started to like this idea of hosting people. Counting on the fact that our first guests were artists it contributed a lot to a unique atmosphere and circumstance to the beginning of our story and then our house evolved to a ‘’familiar hostel’’.
Now, we are deeply satisfied with what fate has prepared for us. We have a very personal approach to our guests in a way that provides the most pleasant, comfortable and peaceful stay.   
In our next pages you can check with even more details our story and how we created this unique space that celebrates the union of two places with different cultures. 
We speak portuguese and as a native of Switzerland I also speak deutsch and english. So, we are prepared and hope to receive guests from Brazil, such as all the corners of the world.
